Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Learn how we handle your information.

Last Updated: September 26, 2026

1. Introduction

At Sourccey, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website, store, and software, including Sourccey Desktop and the Sourccey VR Controller app for Meta Quest.

Important: When connected to Vulcan Robotics services, Sourccey may automatically collect and transmit operational, diagnostic, usage, and performance data as described below. This collection may be enabled by default where permitted by law. Sensitive content such as raw images, video, audio, precise maps, and identifiable training demonstrations requires separate affirmative permission.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information needed to process orders, operate and secure Sourccey, provide support, improve our products, and manage optional email updates. This may include:

  • Email address
  • Shipping address
  • Order details and transaction records
  • Support communications you choose to send us
  • Optional email-subscription preference and source metadata
  • Account, robot, device, and software identifiers
  • Hardware health, error, crash, update, and connectivity information
  • Feature usage, task outcomes, and robot performance metrics
  • Model, training workflow, and dataset metadata that does not include raw training content

We do not sell personal data and we do not run third-party ad targeting from your account data.

3. Robot Data and Product Improvement

Sourccey may collect operational and product-improvement data automatically when the robot or software is connected to our services. Where permitted by law, product-improvement collection is enabled by default. We use this data to operate and secure the product, diagnose failures, improve reliability, evaluate robot and model performance, and develop new features.

Data collected by default may include:

  • Robot and software identifiers, versions, settings, and update status
  • Component health, errors, crashes, logs, and connectivity diagnostics
  • Feature usage and interaction events
  • Task success, failure, duration, and other performance measurements
  • Model configuration, model performance, and training workflow metadata

We seek to minimize this data and associate it with a pseudonymous robot or device identifier when practical. We may aggregate or de-identify information and use the resulting information for research, analytics, product development, and improving Sourccey.

Collection of the following sensitive content for model training is separate from standard product telemetry and requires an additional notice and affirmative permission in Sourccey Desktop:

  • Raw camera images or video
  • Microphone audio or voice recordings
  • Precise maps or detailed information about a home or other private space
  • Synchronized training demonstrations that pair camera frames with joint positions, robot actions, or state

Training-data upload does not begin until the operator affirmatively agrees in Sourccey Desktop. The operator can pause sharing or withdraw that permission in the software's privacy settings. Data needed to provide a requested connected feature, maintain security, deliver updates, or diagnose a service failure may still be processed while that feature or service is in use.

  • Transparent - We describe the categories and purposes of robot data collection in this policy and in relevant product notices
  • Controllable - Available privacy settings let you manage optional product-improvement collection
  • Purpose limited - We use robot data to operate, secure, support, and improve Sourccey and related products

Depending on your location and the type of data, we process information to provide the product and connected services, for our legitimate interests in security and product improvement, to comply with law, or with your consent. Where consent is required, collection will not begin until you take the required affirmative action.

4. Sourccey VR Controller (Meta Quest App)

Sourccey VR Controller lets an operator wearing a Meta Quest headset control a physical Sourccey robot over their own local network.

The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no crash reporting. It does not use the microphone, does not capture or transmit images from the headset cameras, and does not access your location, contacts, or files. It does not communicate with any server operated by Vulcan Robotics.

Network connections. The app connects only to a robot host that you specify, at an address you enter yourself. It sends control commands and receives robot state and, when enabled, video from cameras attached to the robot. That traffic goes directly from your headset to your robot and does not pass through Vulcan Robotics.

Store entitlement. At launch the app verifies your Meta Store entitlement through Meta's platform. This confirms only that your account owns the app. It does not give us your identity, and nothing about it is stored or transmitted by the app.

Relationship to other Sourccey products. The VR app is a control interface only. The robot and product-improvement data described in section 3 is handled by the Sourccey robot and Sourccey Desktop, not by the VR app, and using the VR app does not change those settings.

Permissions. Camera access is used solely to display Meta Passthrough, so you can see the robot and your real surroundings while operating it; the app does not read, record, or transmit camera images. Network access is used solely to reach the robot host you specify.

Data on your headset, and deleting it.The app stores only technical settings on the device: calibration values, your speed preference, the robot address you last entered, and diagnostic logs that are disabled by default. None of it is personal information and none of it leaves the headset. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it, or use Settings → Apps → Sourccey VR Controller → Storage → Clear data. For any other request, contact [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

5. How We Use Information

We use checkout information to process orders, provide customer support, and communicate about your purchase. We also use optional email-subscription data to send product, launch, and platform update emails when you opt in from the home page, checkout, account page, admin-approved actions, or signed email links. We use robot and product-improvement data for:

  • Improving Sourccey's AI and machine learning capabilities
  • Enhancing robot training algorithms
  • Operating, securing, diagnosing, and improving robot hardware and software
  • Measuring feature reliability and task performance
  • Developing and improving Sourccey and related open-source tools

You can unsubscribe or re-subscribe to email updates from your account page or by using signed links in email messages.

6. Data Storage and Security

Checkout data: We store only what is necessary to complete your order and support you.

Sourccey software: We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect robot and product-improvement data. We limit access to people and service providers who need it for the purposes described in this policy.

All data transmission, if any, is done using secure protocols. We follow open-source security best practices and welcome community security audits.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing services, improving products, maintaining security, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data category. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably be linked to an individual.

7. Third-Party Services

We use service providers to operate our business and products. Depending on the feature you use, these providers may include payment processors, cloud hosting and storage providers, email and support providers, and security, analytics, or error-monitoring services. They may process information for us under contractual restrictions.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Manage optional collection - Use available Sourccey privacy settings to disable optional product-improvement collection and manage separate sensitive-data permissions
  • Request data deletion - Ask us to delete robot or account data associated with you, subject to legal, security, and operational retention requirements
  • Access your data - Request information about data associated with you where applicable law provides that right
  • Withdraw permission - Withdraw a sensitive-data permission as easily as it was provided, without affecting processing that already occurred lawfully
